It Just Wasn't in "the Cards"

First off, I wanted to say THANK YOU for all the sweet comments left on my berfday post! I just kept smiling the entire time I was reading them (all 467 times). You guys are AWESOME!

Now on to tonight's events: Well, being that the quads were born in Phoenix (and because we really dislike the Steelers....no offense Angela, Andrew, Emmy and Todd....and the million other Pittsburgh fans out there), we were definitely rooting for the Arizona Cardinals in tonight's SuperBowl game. Unfortunately, a win just wasn't in the cards tonight. Oh well! We had a great time partying with the babies at Brad and Liz Goertz's SuperBowl party tonight. The kids even showed up all decked out in Cardinals gear brought to them from Phoenix by our good friends (and my co-workers) Dave and Deb White. Dave is one of the fabulous ER docs I get to work with and Deb is one of the best Peds ER nurses I have ever known. Here are some pics at the shindig:

Our big Pi-Man

Aunt RayRay feeding Frosty some lasagna. That kid just kept eating and eating and....you get my point.

Mama holding her Danna-girl

The Lainerzinski getting ready to throw down on the toy room.

Pius and Laine....up to no good.

Woo Hoo! Forrest discovered the chalk board and eraser. I see many after-school punishments for him writing lines on the board....."I will not use other students as eraser targets. I will not use other students as eraser targets...."

Little Miss was quite taken with the scary Barbie head (so was Pius).

The Crew, just doin' what they do! And yes, Forrest's head was too big for that necklace....so it sits like a crown. He didn't mind. He already thinks he rules the roost.

Laine couldn't quite grasp the whole "fake food" thing. I think he thought of it more as a cruel, sick joke.

Along the same subject, I also wanted to mention again how wonderful Dave and Deb White have been to us......throughout the pregnancy, our transition back to Kansas, our first year with the babes, and even STILL. They found this CD in a baby boutique and just HAD to get it for us! This is seriously one of the coolest things I've ever seen or even heard of. They said that same company also makes Lullaby Renditions of other famous singers and bands (any Eagles fans or Carrie Underwood fans out there?) We started listening to this CD every night about 30 minutes before bedtime and it seems to help wind them down. It's a great gift for someone with little ones! I highly recommend it.

Now we're sure there are many heartbroken Cardinals fans out there, so to cheer you up I'm going to post a video starring Pius. If this doesn't make you laugh, you lost WAY TOO MUCH MONEY BETTING ON THE GAME! I honestly think this might be our next America's Funniest Home Video submission. Let us know what you think. Enjoy!

Love,

Moni

My heart broke a little for AZ. Bummer.

The Pius video is too funny! He has such a tender heart. I have to say, it was hilarious to see the 3 boys hangin' out with the dolly while Miss Danna was parked in the background.

P.S. So, all the (or most of 'em) were crying the other day and my dad shouts out something to the effect of, "Quick, someone put some Johnny Cash on!" We didn't have a copy handy, but you've sure started something!
P.P.S. I think I liked your birthday post as much as you did. SO sweet!

I was rooting for the Cardinals too. Oh well! At least it was close, right?!

That video clip is soooo funny... What a big heart Pius has for such a little guy! The girls started staring at me as I LOL... Now Emma's wanting to watch it again, too!

Cute. But really, you're reading too much into it. I think he has issues with that Bronco's shirt.

How funny! Towards the end, it looked like he was trying so hard not to let it out, but then he couldn't take it anymore and he had to cry.

Pius is such a sweet baby. It was funny to us....but he really suffered. I think it's another go for AFV!
Keep up the good work.
Love ya! Budda

Yeah, my quads were bummed too about the Cardinals. You think the Cardinals could have won it for all those born in Phoenix!

Great video.

Pius's sensitive side must come our side of the family....i've even seen him do this in person and I still cry every time I watch this video! It's actually quite a weird emotion...I'm laughing hysterically while crying tears down my face :) Cruel Monica. Just cruel.

So sad.
Could Danna be any cuter! I mean the boys are precious but seriously, she looks like a baby doll!!!!

We are sad that the Cardinals lost, as well. Love the shirts on the kiddos. My son and puppy both have AZ jerseys, and wore them proudly during the game.
Love the video, very funny!!

Take care,
Rita

Moni, totally priceless video. I do have to say Pius made my two year old Maggie a little concerned. She kept watching the video like what in the world is wrong with that baby. None of her baby dolls make noises like that. She has one which says "momma".

Anyhow, we got a kick out of it. You need to send me an email address so I can invite you to my blog post. My work was snooping on mine and I had a conference with HR so I had to block it. Kind of sucks. Oh well. E-Mail me at slarwilsh@gmail.com and I'll add ya. I miss your comments.

The kids are beautiful and you look terrific too!!

The video was funny, our dog was so concerned about Pius crying he was trying to climb into the computer to comfort him. I guess it's good to know that when we have a baby the crying won't upset him let's just hope he doesn't try to comfort the baby to much! I think this one would be a winner!

I love his little lip that sticks out. How adorable is that. I have heard about the lullaby cd. I was told that Rascal Flatts(who are my favorite) also did one but they must have not released it yet or decided not to do it.

Oh Sweet Pius James...you are killing Aunt Jac over here. After about the 2nd or 3rd time I wanted to fly up there and rip the batteries out of that dumb baby that is making you cry :) That was too dang funny!

With a name like Pius, I had assumed he would be a priest. I didn't realize, though, that he'd be bawling in the confessional when he'd hear the heartache of his flock. I also got a kick out of your other babies. They have obviously learned to tune out Pius when he's overcome with emotion.

That last comment was mine. With your huge heart, I would be the first in line for confession. We could weep together. Course, the other people in line would probably get freaked with our sobs and go to a different confessor. Their loss. Great Aunt GGr

Seriously...9 days...this post is 9 DAYS old! I've got the shakes that only some pics of Danna and the boys can cure. Throw a little Moni and Billy into the pics and I'll be dancing by sundown.

COME ON...you are at the bottom of my blog roll...step it up!

Much love,
Jac

Hey dudes,

Sorry I haven't read the blog in a while, but I finally caught up on all the posts...first of all, Monica, Happy really belated birthday!!! Secondly, Billy that post for Monica's birthday almost made me want to go out with you...just kidding it was a great post though. I do feel honored that I was able to play a part in getting Billy a chance to go out with Monica...you know I'm always there for you Billy. I will always find a way to help you out no matter what it takes. Even if I did have to steal those Garth Brooks tickets from a 10 year old kid...just kidding to everyone reading this, I would never do that. I actually had a connection with a local radio station to get the tickets. Anyways, I'm glad the Graf squad could make it out for the super bowl party, and I do wish the Cardinals could have pulled off the upset. Hope all is well, and I need to make it over there soon to see all the little rascals!!!
