A little of this, a little of that

Just wanted to write a note to keep the faithful bloggers updated. All systems go and smooth sailing continues here at the Graf household. The babes are starting to gear up for the Broncos training camp and, thanks to the 81 Speedway crew, are appropriately dressed. This is one of the few times Daddy Graf will allow Mommy Graf to dress the kids in anything even remotely similar. Well.... game days and maybe SOME holidays. Mommy Graf says that things are looking good when we manage to get them dressed at all.

Pius, Forrest, Danna and Laine in their Sunday best

TIMBER!!! Sometimes Pius has problems with his cheeks throwing him off-balance

The Bronco Boys

"No, I am NOT a boy!" Her pink Broncos outfits were still a little too roomy. We didn't want to show any cleavage.

Our evening routine seems to be working some sort of magic. I know Bucko would agree with us, despite how much she loaths "quiet time". About 15 minutes before the last bottle of the day, we turn the lights down, turn off/mute the T.V. (if there's a game on) , turn on the Baby Einstein music CD and try to refrain from too much talking (this is where Bucko has the issues). We get them ready for bed (change diapers, put them in their "sleep sacks" because they kick out of blankets, have some last minute smiles and cooing and say our prayers) and give them their bottles. Then, the magic begins..... They have been sleeping anywhere from about 7 to 9 hours until their morning feeds! And what's better is that after their 1st a.m. feed, they go back to sleep for another 1 1/2 to 3 hours. Life's good. Now if only mom would learn to go to bed when the babies do....but alas, there are posts to be written. Especially since the Tubres last Dance Video was released. They have some really sweet moves, those kids.

Since we're on the subject of beds, the babies' cribs are now complete. I had bought material for the crib skirts and bumpers way back in Phoenix. As it turns out, I didn't have as much spare time as I thought I would and hadn't even started THINKING about sewing them. My Aunt Cathy (Becky's mom) came to the rescue. Not only did she turn out some beautiful bedskirts and bumpers.... they were EXACTLY what I had in mind. I can't thank her enough! The quads would've been in college before I ever sat down to do them. We kind of have a dark denim/Americana-esque theme in the babies' room. You can't really tell from the pictures below. I'll try to get a better picture of the bedding when the kids aren't sleeping in them. Aunt Cathy is also our Tuesday afternoon bath-giver and all-around helper. She knows all too well the lethal accuracy of Forrest "the sniper" Graf. I hope he's half as talented with a basketball.

Pius and Laine being mesmerized by the psychadelic mobile that Michelle Jahn brought over

I think Laine's hypnotized. Pius wouldn't fall into the trap that easily.

In other news, Billy took a sucker-punch to the left eye the other day at work. No, not at the Oasis... at QT. He has a black eye, but you should see the Coke can that hit him.
I got my "hairs" cut last Monday by our friend, Terri Peterson. Yes, the "mommy chop" was long over-due. Maybe one of these days I'll do my hair and make-up and take a picture to show you all. But by the time all that happens, it will probably have grown back!
Danna has a 5-month doctor appointment this Thursday, and the boys will tag along to get their last RSV shot of the season. It'll be interesting to see what the little toads weigh now. We'll let you all know.

Danna wanted a victory beer after KU's big win, but the most dad would allow was a sniff

Gampa Stubby with Pius (cheering for KU)

When Forrest starts telling us a "whale tale", we'll know were he got it. Okay, that caption comment was totally stupid, but I couldn't think of anything else.

That's about all that's new in our neck of the woods. Let us know what's going on in your lives. We'd love to hear from anyone who reads our blog!

Love,

Billy, Monica, etc, etc, etc, etc

P.S. Are your taxes done, yet? My sister, Emily, just got finished with ours. All I can say is, "Thank God for our little tax deductions!" Woo-Hoo! We're going to the Sizzler, baby!

They are getting so big and look just about as cute as any baby could (vice the Broncos outfits of course). Good job on the sleeping habits. That has to be a true blessing.

I thought you guys were using that beer bottle to compare it's size to Danna! She is soo darn cute. Good thing she has all those brothers to protect her. Love you guys-- Andrea

Do I have to comment just to let you know I read it? I commented on the pictures on the family site. That should count.

I did love the post.

Thanks for the new CUTE pictures! Sorry about your eye Billy, and can't wait to see your hair Monica! I was thinking you guys would probably make out pretty good with your taxes this year, and throw in the rebate checks. You will be rolling in the dough :)
I will be 6 months pregnant tomorrow. Time flies huh? That is about all with me. Thanks for not making us wait so long!

I LOVE the new pictures. Thay are so darn adorable - still my second favorite set of quads. Can't wait for a dance-off. From the looks of the votes our boys will have to work on their moves some. The girls are slamming them! Love the "whale tale" - that had to be you Moni and love the sign off "etc, etc, etc, etc". It was so good to talk to you yesterday.

Love ya,

Bet it was impossible to keep bedtime quiet during the KU game. The munchkins probably thought they were back in Phoenix next to the delivery rooms.

I had to laugh when I saw that Danna has traded Momma's milk for Daddy's. Aunt GGr

You guys do such a good job of posting. It's so nice to see the pictures and keep up on the news when we're far away and can't see them in person. Checking the sight weekly always makes me smile and even laugh outloud at some of your creative stories. I am amazed that you have them all sleeping through the night. They are so adorable. I wish I was there to help out. Love to all,
Aunt Connie

The Sizzler?! You crack my shit up. For real.

Thanks for the gorgeous pictures- your kiddos are incredible.

Not much going on here- we found out that the wait for our little one (maybe more than one?) has extended. We're looking at travel by the end of spring, early summer of next year. Argh. Aren't you glad you asked?

xoxo, Courtney

Um, can I just ask why you have to have it all quiet when the babies go to sleep?? You know if you do that every night, you will have a heck of a time getting them to sleep when they are older?? My sister in law did that and we couldnt even TALK when we were at her house! Its really a pain and its better to get them used to NOISE now!! Run the sweeper, make noise, sista!!!

I have really enjoyed all of your blog, but as the kiddos get older, they are more and more entertaining! They are all so adorable and getting to look so big! Here in the White house we are getting ready to pack up and move to TX for my husband's residency (anesthesia). That's what me and my boys are up to...and our two cats.

Dear Anonymous,
These babies are no stangers to LOTS of noise! They can sleep through the vacuum, talking and probably even a tornado. We don't keep it quiet because we're afraid they'll stay awake...We do it that way (only at night) so they realize that it's bedtime and not social hour. They know the routine and it has worked wonders for us. Thanks for the concern, though. We appreciate it when we get advice....or just comments saying that we need to pull our heads out!

Absolutely love the Bronco gear! They make the most adorable Bronco fans :) Too, too cute! Love you guys and hope to see you soon!

Wow- your 4 sleep better than my one! Though I shouldn't jinx myself as he is sleeping quite soundly right now- he'll feel me talking about his poor sleeping habits and wake up.

Blake is really starting to get a little personality on him. Today he flirted with the lady at the Post Office the entire time we were there, smiling and cooing at her. He found his thumb this week and thinks its a pretty fun thing to stick in his mouth. Hopefully that phase will pass before its no longer cute. He is 6 days older than the quads, but he was also 2 weeks overdue.

Thanks for the great posts,

Frank the Tank is back and would just like to say that next to Christmans, April 15th is the next happiest day of the year for me...Of course I had clients and friends calling me up to the last minute, but now I'm able to sit back in my office and catch up on everything that I have been missing over the last 4 months...especially keeping up on the little rascals!!! Pius, Forrest, Danna, and Laine don't think I have forgot about you, I will make it up this spring when I get to come over and visit all of you. Yes, I'm the big goofy guy that came to see you in the NICU in Phoenix the week after you were born...how could you forget that big monster (a friendly one at that) that you saw in the room when you were only a week old. Forrest, I told you to be nice to everyone because when you get older they are going to remember the little 'sniper' tricks you played on them. Also, watch out for the gigantic whale that's behind you trying to bite your ear off. Danna, I thought I told you if you do the booze you lose. Pius, you need to quit hanging around Barry Bonds...his head really throws him off-balance. Laine don't fall into those hypnotizing schemes...they make you reveal all your secrets, and I know you are the sneaky one, so you need to keep all your surprises locked up! Well, it sounds like all is going well in the Graf household, and I can't wait to visit everyone. Talk to you soon.

Holy Toledo! they're huge (and adorable)! I'm not quite sure where the saying "Holy Toledo" came from because why is Toledo such a big deal? Makes me wonder. If anyone knows feel free to share. Anywho, we love and miss you so much!

Crystal Hanson here: I was wondering when I was going to see those adorable pictures you took that day I was over there! They turned out better than I thought they did. You have such adorable kiddos. I had so much fun meeting them all. I can't wait to see your new haircut...it will probably make me jealous and I will want to do mine. The kids went in for their last synergist shots this week and I told Dr. Chavez I got to meet your kiddos. He laughed and was like a proud dad and said they are pretty cute. He made the comment that I thought I had my hands full. I just laughed...I said yeah, you got that right! You could tell he enjoys your kids too. Well, I better go...feeding and bed time for my little rascals.Take Care, hopefully I will talk to you soon.

Do you have any new updates from the munchkins visit to the doctor? We are anxious to hear the new weights! They grow so much from one time I get to see them to the next. Those pictures are sooo cute!
Love ya!

Billy, what is so wrong with dressing them alike? It might be easier on whoever is getting them dressed, ya know? At least while they are still little.

Jac Tubre said...

OK Moni, I need to see my little buddies and your new do and Billy's hopefully black-eye free face! I can't take it anymore!

I know you are just sitting around over there in Kansas with nothing to do so post an update already! He He. Sorry, had to do it.

Love ya,
Jac
