Memorial Day 2008. Take 2.

Happy Memorial Day, everyone! The kids' 1st Memorial Day began with daddy going into work. Mommy worked the night before so Budda and Aunt June came to corral the buckeroos for the morning. Daddy got off work at 3:00 pm and we started their after nap feed with Bucko to lend her ever-helping hand. They ate really well because they were excited to get together with their Selenke cousins to remember their Great Grandfather, Papa. We loaded up in the van and headed to Resthaven Cemetery to meet up with some of the family. This marks the first time that all 6 of Bucko and Papa's great grandchildren were together. Of course, there were pictures taken....
The Quads with their older cousins, Austin Selenke and Jack Duling. 5 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter...Bucko, I think you have your work cut out for you all over again!
Pius...already taking after his namesake!

Afterwards, Nick and Paula Duling invited us all over to their barn for a cook-out. Sarah and Moni kept their winning streak going by beating Katie and Jake in pookie hole (just go with it...it's a Selenke family favorite with marbles and dice). The babies continue to amaze us with their good behavior and adaptability when we throw a wrench into their bubble. Of course, there was no shortage of hands to keep them occupied either.

Great-Great Aunt Laverna sent the babies some cute USA outfits. We couldn't wait until July 4th (at the rate they're growing, they may not fit them by then, either!). It almost killed daddy to see his boys dressed all in the same clothes, but mommy talked him off the ledge.

Also, on Tuesday, we were able to finally make it to The Center for Reproductive Medicine to see Dr. Tjaden and his wonderful staff. The babies were uber-excited to see them. Pius couldn't stop staring at Dr. Tjaden....I think he made a life-long friend. I still remember way back when we first started on our journey to conceive. We were talking to Dr. Tjaden after all our blood tests came back and he said, "I don't think we're going to have a problem getting you pregnant. The problem is getting you TOO pregnant!" And a few years later after lots of self-administered shots, a plethora of ultrasounds, 2 miscarriages and ovarian hyperstimulation (ouch).....our prayers were answered four times over! They were SO worth the wait.

We'll keep trying our best to chronicle our new little adventures as they happen. Stay tuned 'til next time!

Love,
The Graf Quad Squad

P.S. Having a little bit of a hard time with the new camera and transferring photos to the computer. Will post them ASAP.

Yes, she does smile at times

Another thing that almost sent Daddy over the edge....baby-hawks.

Pius licking his chops after attempting to eat Danna (see previously posted video entitled "Pius Kisses")

My sweet baby James.....he's been in such a good mood lately

Testing...testing...1-2-3. Is this thing on?

Forrest rocking out, determined to be the next American Idol. Or maybe he's just throwing a fit.

Forrest passed out after a long night of partying like a rock star.

Glad you guys are finally getting to change things up more and more. It will just keep getting more and more fun. I'm sure it helps to be able to get out of the house. Plus the babies seem to be ejoying it. That's great! Thanks for the post. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. Andrea

1st off, you are never supposed to wake a sleeping baby :) Although it was precious seeing him with all of those smiles right when he woke up.

I was so excited to check back today and see all the pictures added. Not that it wasn't a good post before, but it is much better with the pictures!

I'm sitting here with Emma in my lap and she is dying laughing at the video of Forrest. I think she likes him!

Great pictures. So sorry they didn't get to meet their great-grandfather. Bucko is a very blessed great-grandmother with 6 little cutie patooties!

I'm pumped about November 8th!!!!!

Love you guys,
Jac

The posts have been great. Hope the summer brings you many new adventures as you continue to break out of your bubble.

I also think baby hawks are hilarious, Kevin does not share my enthusiasm. Usually I get an eye roll or a "why do you do that to him?"

Will the quads make it to the race track this season?

Cousin Jake looks so proud of his quad cousins. We saw Nick, Dan and Jake at Taco Pronto a few months ago and Jake was eager to share what he knew about the quads. It was the most I had ever heard him talk. Usually I just get a shy grin.

Great post as usual!!! Bet the babies are enjoying their new adventures and bet Billy and Moni are enjoying getting out of the house more. Billy, what team are you coaching in MAYB, my youngest Caleb is playing MAYB also and maybe we will be at some of same tournaments.

Ok, so I am looking at the pictures for the 400th time and I have a few questions for you...

1. Is Grandpa Stubby trying to push Jack onto my little Danna?

2. Pius looks like a damn 9 month old. (ok, so there wasn't a question there...sorry)

3. The picture of Laine and cousin Katie is one of my favorites from the post. He is so darn adorable. Now for the question...is cousin Katie wearing any clothes? Or is hanging out naked a Kansas thing I don't know about?

Love yall,
Jac

The picture of Forrest sleeping across his bouncer is flat out priceless! It's one of those that is worthy to share with his girlfriends when he's older! They are all starting to show their personalities in your snapshots... especially little miss Danna. Keep the pictures coming!

Billy and Monica,

I am a friend of Jac and Torey, and certainly in love with the Tubre quads...!!!! I visit your site, I just don't comment....Your children are adorable. Your endless energy and wit is amazing, and most entertaining is all of the "jousting" between blogs. I am so thankful to be a part of today's technology and the ability to share so many journeys electronically. Let it be known that NONE of your posts are boring..!!! Your family and their stories are very worthy.
I am, however, most grateful for folks like you and the Tubre's who
walk the walk, always in gratitude to God. It refreshes my hope in humanity. I know (8) little beings who will have a brighter future because of your extraordinary examples.

As much as I hate to admit it,
the LSU jabs are incredibly funny..! I love the hawks, the lounging, and the rockin' out..!!

God bless and keep you all -

The kids are all growing so quickly and getting cuter by the minute. Keep up the great work with the posts--you spoil us but we really appreciate it! Love you all!
